Mexican University’s Cost?
Why is it that “Universidad De Guadalajara” charges Mexican Students a minuscule amount compared to someone that is a foreigner, say I chose to study medicine down there well they are going to charge 10x more than they would charge someone that lives down there, School of Medicine for someone that lives down there would cost 50.00, 100.00 dollars every 6 months or every semester and to foreigners they charge almost same as if you where studying here in America…I wish I was born 100% Mexican that way University would be almost “free”.
I’m from mexico..and it is true…. foreign students that come to study in mexico…they get more charges at school… wether if it’s public or private
besides…if u are mexican ..u get more benefits at shool..just for being mexican…
it’s the same in other countries too..
e.g.: if i want to study in a U.S. university…I have to pay more or idk how the costs and fees are there…but if u are american…they will give u more benefits than a foreigner

Leisure Settings: Bourgeois Culture, Medicine, and the Spa in Modern France $71.78 The artful use of one’s free time was a discipline perfected by the French in the nineteenth century. Casinos, alpine hiking, hotel dinners, romantic gardens, and lavish parks were all part of France’s growing desire for the ideal vacation. Perhaps the most intriguing vacation, however, was the ever popular health resort, and this is the main topic of Douglas Mackaman’s fascinating study.Taking us into the vibrant social world of France’s great spas, Mackaman explores the links between class identity and vacationing. Mackaman shows how, after 1800, physicians and entrepreneurs zealously tried to break their milieu’s strong association with aristocratic excess and indecency by promoting spas as a rational, ordered equivalent to the busy lives of the bourgeoisie. Rather than seeing leisure time as slothful, Mackaman argues, the bourgeoisie willingly became patients at spas and viewed this therapeutic vacation as a sensible, even productive, way of spending time. Mackaman analyzes this transformation, and ultimately shows how the premier vacation of an era made and was made by the bourgeoisie. |

Selective Sentinel Lymphadenectomy for Human Solid Cancer $1.98 In human solid cancer, the lymph node (LN) status is the most important prognostic indicator for the clinical outcome of patients. Recent developments in the sentinel lymph node (SLN) concept and technology have resulted in the application of this revolutionary approach to define the first draining or SLN to which the cancer may have metastasized. The underlying thesis in solid cancer biology is that metastasis generally starts in an orderly progression, spreading through the lymphatic channels to the SLN in the nearest LN basin. Thus, the logical approach is to harvest that specific SLN for thorough analysis. Because a tumor-free SLN is usually associated with a negative residual LN basin, a negative SLN is an excellent indication that micrometastasis has not occurred in the regional LNs. When the SLN is involved, it is unknown whether or not metastasis is limited only to the SLN or if the disease has spread to the remainder of the nodal basin. For this reason, if an SLN is positive, a complete lymph node dissection is recommended. Therefore, selective sentinel lymphadenectomy (SSL) should be considered as a staging procedure so that patients with negative SLNs (about 80%) may be spared an extensive LN dissection. Malignant melanoma has been proven to be the most ideal tumor model to study the role of SLN. Subsequently, SSL has been applied to breast cancer, colon cancer and other types of solid cancer. The multidisciplinary approach encompassing the surgeon, nuclear medicine physician, and pathologist is the key to such a successful procedure. Such a team can be formed readily with appropriate training. Beyond the technical aspects of harvesting the SLN, the implication ofmicrometastasis remains to be defined. Because the follow-up of melanoma and breast cancer patients after SSL is crucial, ongoing clinical trials are in progress to determine the biological and clinical significance of SLNs. Although the concept of SLN is viable in other types of cancer, such as |

Statistical Shape Analysis $180 Statistical Shape Analysis involves methods for the geometrical study of random objects where location, rotation and scale information can be removed. The book lays the foundations of the subject discussing key ideas and the very latest developments, as well as offering practical guidance and comparisons of techniques. There is a vast range of applications of shape analysis and the authors introduce the field to statisticians and applied researchers through important examples and data analysis in Biology, Medicine and Image Analysis. The text primarily concentrates on landmark data — key points of correspondence located on each object. Careful consideration of the similarity invariances requires methods appropriate for non-Euclidean data analysis. In particular, multivariate statistical procedures cannot be applied directly, but can be adapted in certain instances. The book begins with introductory material on shape, size and coordinate systems. Planar Procrustes analysis is then discussed to highlight the main components of shape analysis. The shape space and general Procrustes methods are introduced, probability distributions for shape are described and statistical inference is discussed. Some deformation methods for shape change are also given and a special chapter is devoted to shape in image analysis. Finally, various alternative procedures including landmark-free methods are critically discussed and compared. Definitions and important results are highlighted throughout to assist the reader in learning about this new, exciting and important area. |
