These paramedic personnel are mostly work in association with hospitals. The ground ambulance, air lifting services, fire departments or say any other inaccessible area when common people cannot reach these EMTs are trained to work there. At the time, many schools and universities have been offering the well-designed paramedic courses to train students in order to face the challenges courageously.

Those who want to make career in the paramedic field are open to utilize the offers of online Paramedic School. The EMT classes provided by such institutions give an experience to attain the lectures of experts. You can also read and view the practical aspects of the EMT training online. The description of the dummy experiment helps a lot to learn the nuances of the paramedic. In this way, they offer both theoretical and practical aspects to the students.

Paramedic professionals are trained to provide an on-the-spot emergency medical treatment to the victims. They provide the primary treatment to hold on patients until proper medication by the doctor is started. During the EMT training period, students learn how to transport patient in an ambulance and carry the necessary equipment and medication accessories for the primary treatment.

The formal course of paramedic education usually takes 18 to 24 months. There is both classroom education and field duty included in the course. EMT training comprises the basic three levels course called as EMT basic, intermediate and advance. The aspirants of the paramedic area should at least be a high school graduate to be enrolled in the institute. Those who are in full time work can go for the online paramedic schools. They facilitate the service of EMT classes to the students. In this way, either you go online or offline the correct knowledge and training of EMT is necessary to perform at the time of quick aid to the patients.

Five years ago Jane Stern was a walking encyclopedia of panic attacks, depression, and hypochondria. Her marriage of more than thirty years was suffering, and she was virtually immobilized by fear and anxiety. As the daughter of parents who both died before she was thirty, Stern was terrified of illness and death, and despite the fact that her acclaimed career as a food and travel writer required her to spend a great deal of time on airplanes, she suffered from a persistent fear of flying and severe claustrophobia. But a strange thing happened one day on a plane that was grounded at the Minneapolis airport for six horrible, foodless, airless hours. A young man on a trip with his classmates suddenly became dizzy and pale because he hadn’t eaten in many hours, and there was no food left on the plane. Without thinking about it, Jane gave him the candy bar that she had in her purse. A short time later the color had returned to his cheeks, the boy was laughing again with his friends, and Jane realized that this one small act of kindness–helping another person who was suffering–had provided her with comfort and a sense of well-being. It was shortly thereafter that this fifty-two-year-old writer decided to become an emergency medical technician, eventually coming to be known as Ambulance Girl. Stern tells her story with great humor and poignancy, creating a wonderful portrait of a middle-aged, Woody Allen-ish woman who was deeply and neurotically terrified of sick and dead people, but who went out into the world to save other people’s lives as a way of saving her own. Her story begins with the boot camp of EMT training: 140 hours at the hands of a dour ex-marine who took delight inpresenting a veritable parade of amputations, hideous deformities, and gross disasters. Jane–overweight and badly out of shape–had to surmount physical challenges like carrying a 250-pound man seated in a chair down a dark flight of stairs. After class she did rounds in the emergency ro

 Expressive movement therapy

Expressive movement therapy

$61.99

After many years of clinical work with drug addicts at the Centre for Treatment of Drug Addiction (CZOPD), we found that the majority of drug addicts shows a negligent, negative or indifferent, sometimes even aggressive attitude toward their body We have, however, noticed certain changes in attitude toward the body during intensive expressive movement therapy treatment. The group Expressive movement therapy (EMT)combines various elements: relating to and working with one’s body, talking about one’s feelings and establishing social relationships. EMT follows the theory and practice of group analytical psychotherapy. It includes non-verbal, free and creative expression with movement, which serves as a starting-point to talk about feelings, thoughts, memories and associations. At the same time the Expressive movement therapy places each individual in a group, giving him the experience of social communication and a sense of belonging. Primary purpose of the book is to provide information, training and counselling. It is especially useful for those in treatment for drug dependence, their relatives, friends, teachers, counsellors and therapists.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! In Canada the paramedic is a health professional, providing pre-hospital assessment and medical care to the victims of illnesses or injuries. The term is generally limited to include those who work on emergency and non-emergency patient transport service environment ambulances. In Canada, the term ‘paramedic’ is typically used generically, to refer to anyone who works on a land or air ambulance. This may not be unreasonable, since the entry level in some jurisdictions involves substantially more mandatory education and training than paramedics (generally speaking Advanced Care Paramedic equivalent) in other environments, and the skill set is sometimes, but not always, beyond that of an EMT (generally speaking Primary Care Paramedic equivalent). Increasingly in Canada, paramedics are becoming self-regulated health professionals, operating and regulated in the same manner as nurses, physiotherapists, etc.

Primal Awareness: A True Story of Survival, Transformation, & Awakening with the Raramuri Shamans of Mexico

The remarkable story of one man’s rediscovery of his primordial mandate and of the strange journey that took him there• Explores the innate knowledge that exists within us all, a "primal awareness," that can help us to live in harmony with our world• Shows how we can rediscover this unseeable realm In 1983, caught in a violent rainstorm while kayaking the Rio Urique in Mexico’s Copper Canyon, Don Trent Jacobs was swept into an impassable catacomb of underwater tunnels toward what he believed was certain death. But instead of panic, Jacobs found himself filled with a strange consciousness that left him feeling at peace and invigorated with a confidence he had never before known. Moments later he was spit from the tunnel alive–not at the end of his journey, but only at its beginning. Primal Awareness tells the story of Don Trent Jacobs’s remarkable vision of the human mind and heart and the compelling spiritual quest that brought him to it. Through his experiences with the Raramuri people of Mexico and his research of other indigenous societies, Jacobs identifies what he calls our "primal awareness," an innate knowledge that exists within us all. Jacobs shows how we can rediscover this primordial mandate that unites all things and that helps us to find our own inner strength an harmony. Don Trent Jacobs earned a doctorate in health psychology while training wild horses, playing piano in nightclubs, and working as an EMT. He holds a second doctorate in education renewal and is the Education Department Chair of the Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. It provides margin cues keyed to the text and helpful insights on presenting the program. Sample reports with analysis, useful for discussion groups, are provided.Author Bio: Walter C. Transition Series: Topics for the EMT provides both an overview of new information contained within the Education Standards at the EMT level and a source of continuing education for practicing EMTs. Intended for a new generation of EMTs, the text integrates new topics that were not contained in the EMT-B curriculum and existing topics at a much greater depth and breadth than what was contained in the typical EMT-Basic education program. Educating and training EMTs using the new Education Standards, this text provides a solid foundation of knowledge to practice pre-hospital care.

Exposure to conditions perceived as stressful can be harmful to one's health and is more likely in certain types of careers such as those in emergency medical services (EMS). EMS responders are subject to a higher level of stress referred to as traumatic or critical incident stress due to exposures such as significant injuries to or deaths of a co-responder or child, dismembered bodies, multiple casualty motor vehicle crashes, and violent threats of significant injury or death to oneself or witnessing such threats to others. Minimal time has been devoted during initial EMS training to the development and application of coping behaviors that might be helpful in the management of EMS stress. The purpose of this study was to test an experiential, skill-based module based on the COMPLEX model, designed to promote outcome expectation, expectancy value, self-efficacy, and attribution beliefs regarding proactive coping behaviors associated with breathing, positive self-talk, and cognitive restructuring. In this experimental design study, participants were students in EMT-Basic training courses, who were randomly assigned to an experimental or control group. The experimental group received the experiential, skill-based module, while the control group received the standard EMT-Basic training curriculum module. Outcome expectation, expectancy value, self-efficacy, and attribution beliefs were measured by pretest and posttest, using the Proactive Behaviors in EMS Appraisal, an instrument designed specifically for the study by the principal investigator. A retrospective pretest, posttest was additionally administered to the experimental group to confirm the validity of the results, ruling out any potential for a response shift bias as a result of exposure to unfamiliar concepts. Multiple regression analyses were conducted to determine the significant predictors for change in participant beliefs. Participants in the experimental group were shown to have significantly
